Let the Waterfront Shuttle Do Some of the Walking

Seattle's FREE Waterfront Shuttle makes it easier to move between waterfront destinations and nearby parts of downtown without bringing a car.

It can be especially useful when you want to cover more ground than you would comfortably walk during a limited port visit.

🚌 Shuttle Stops & Information
🚶

Walk the Waterfront

For passengers arriving at Pier 66, walking is often the easiest way to explore. The central waterfront promenade connects the piers, restaurants, attractions and public spaces, while Overlook Walk provides a pedestrian connection toward Pike Place Market.

🚕

Taxi & Rideshare

Taxis and app-based rideshare services can be useful for destinations beyond the immediate waterfront, transportation between cruise terminals, or trips involving luggage. Allow extra time when traffic is heavy or several ships are in port.

🚈

Public Transit

Seattle's downtown transit network provides connections beyond the waterfront. Link light rail is particularly useful for reaching destinations along the downtown corridor and for travel between downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport.

✈️

Heading to the Airport?

Sea-Tac Airport is south of downtown Seattle. Depending on your luggage, schedule and preferences, you can use Link light rail, a taxi, rideshare, shuttle or other ground transportation. Build extra time into your plans for traffic and airport procedures.

🚢 Pier 66 — Bell Street

Pier 66 is directly on the central waterfront. For many passengers, sightseeing can begin as soon as you leave the terminal.

🚢 Pier 91 — Smith Cove

Pier 91 is north of the central waterfront. Plan on using transportation to reach the main waterfront visitor area and allow additional time for your return.

🛳️ Don't Cut Your Return Too Close

Your cruise line's all-aboard time should determine your schedule. Allow a generous margin for walking, traffic, transportation waits and unexpected delays — particularly if your ship departs from Pier 91.

What Sounds Good?

🍽️ Eat, Explore & Experience Seattle

You don't have to go far from your ship to experience Seattle. Eat fresh Northwest seafood, ride above Elliott Bay, get out on the water, browse waterfront shops or simply find a great place to enjoy the view.

One Last Check

🛳️ Before You Head Back to Your Ship

Seattle is easy to keep exploring — which makes it especially important to keep an eye on the clock. Before heading back, make sure you've allowed enough time for every step between where you are and your ship.

1

Check All-Aboard Time

Use the time provided by your cruise line or ship. Don't base your return on a general cruise schedule.

2

Retrieve Your Bags

If you've stored luggage, allow enough time to retrieve it before heading to your terminal, hotel, airport or other transportation.

3

Allow for Transportation

Walking time, traffic, rideshare waits and transit connections can all take longer than expected, especially on busy cruise days.

4

Build in a Buffer

Give yourself extra time rather than planning to arrive at the terminal at the last possible minute.

⏰

Your Ship's Schedule Comes First

The ideas and itineraries in this guide are intended to help you plan your Seattle visit, but conditions can change throughout the day.

Always follow your cruise line's instructions and return requirements. Traffic, crowds, attraction lines and transportation delays should be factored into your plans.

🚢 Returning to Pier 66

Pier 66 is directly on Seattle's central waterfront. If you're exploring nearby piers, you may be able to walk back to your ship.

🚢 Returning to Pier 91

Pier 91 is north of the central waterfront. Include transportation time and a generous buffer when deciding when to leave downtown.

Enjoy Your Time in Seattle

Whether you have a few hours or a full day, Seattle's waterfront gives you plenty to experience close to the city's cruise terminals.
